For a long time, I would imagine how my life would be once I exited the matrix. Spending my days on the beach, sustaining a lifestyle by doing what I loved, living a life that felt like freedom. I made it my mission to work hard in places that didn’t feel aligned, saving for a new life that felt true to me. I bought a one-way ticket, an escape, but also a return. A return to simplicity. To the parts of myself I had abandoned. To the land of my ancestors, hoping the roots would hold the medicine I need.

Goa, India. The place that carries so many fond memories from my twenties, laughter, freedom, and a kind of carefree innocence that has long since faded. Now, I return not as the same woman, but as one ready to fall deeper in love with herself.
Two weeks into my journey, I haven’t done much by the world’s standards.
No sightseeing. No socialising. No schedule. Nothing to rush toward, no urgency, no pressure.
When we live in survival mode for so long, we forget what peace feels like. It’s confronting. It’s confusing. My body can’t understand the rest, and my mind overflows with nonsensical thoughts. Still, I continue to breathe through the chaos that has lived in every cell of my being for so long. I remind myself to be gentle, to live simply, while all parts of me slowly come together in wholeness.

Slow mornings filled with movement and gratitude.
Cooking simple, wholesome meals prepared with loving intention.
Caring for myself in the smallest and most tender ways.
And yet, within this love and stillness, the inner noise begins to rise.
The parts I buried so deep that I forgot.
The memories and emotions I never wanted to remember, now here, asking to be seen.
I face the uncomfortable because it’s inescapable.
Because to heal, you must first feel.

Solo travel is often seen as a journey of adventure, friendship, and beautiful destinations. But beyond the physical, it’s also a journey inward. Being alone isn’t loneliness, it’s sacred solitude. Silence reveals the parts of us that truly need our love and attention.
You don’t need to pack your bags or leave your city to begin your journey home.
Start with stillness.
Become present in the silence.
Every act becomes impactful.
Ritual as a form of devotion.
Life as a living prayer.
It’s a beautiful reminder that the simplest blessings of life can be medicine, when we choose to live in awareness. When the ordinary becomes sacred, peace begins to find you exactly where you are. Perhaps the most meaningful solo journey is the one inwards, that brings us closer to ourselves. Transforming everyday life into beautiful blessings. Welcoming inner peace and freedom.
