There’s something magical about women coming together over something crafted with care, heritage, and purpose – and Ladydragón Craft Tequila is exactly that. Born from the vision of two fearless women, JC Cortez and Heather Ann, Ladydragón isn’t just a drink. It’s a celebration of culture, strength, and sisterhood. Made in the heart of Amatitán, Jalisco, this small-batch tequila is additive-free, naturally fermented, and bottled with love by a team of passionate women. Every detail, from the dragon-cloaked bottle to the agave fibre accessories made by indigenous artisans, speaks of a brand built on empowerment, creativity, and community.

I experienced the spirit of Ladydragón firsthand when they so generously sent me a bottle. A gesture that turned a simple picnic with my girls into something unforgettable. The sun dipped behind Yorkshire’s rolling hills as we laid down blankets and poured glass after glass of the smoothest margaritas we’ve ever had. There was laughter, joy, and stories that flowed just as freely as the tequila. Each sip tasted like freedom. Like confidence. Like women living in their power. I was surrounded by women growing up so it was only natural that I gravitated to strong women in my latter years. And that is what drew me to Ladydragón above all the other drink brands that emailed me. The story, the provance, the fact that the agave is grown on historic family land and both Heather and JC know where it comes from. That makes it special.

A few days later, I had the privilege of joining a two hour Zoom with the Ladydragón founders. Two incredible women with fire in their souls and vision in their hearts. What unfolded wasn’t just a conversation about tequila. It was a communion. A rallying cry for women supporting women. A love letter to those who dare to dream differently, lead boldly, and raise each other up along the way. We spoke about the loses our fathers, and out journey to find a ‘Purpose’, astrology and our creative careers. Heather is a scorpio and JC a virgo – a perfect match!

Ladydragón the name alone is a strong message. Often a hard working woman is regarded as a ‘dragon lady’ – but they flipped this and made it their own, challenging why a hard working woman so frowned upon? JC spent time in Asia where she was a hotel designer and it was here she found out she was born in the year of the dragon. The lady part brings it back to them living in London and as Heather perfectly described being feminine, being unapologetic. During my conversation it dawned on me what a perfect friendship they have and I caught them on a business trip to Greece – my zoom was ill timed! but in true friendship spirit – with no plan they found a spot in front of the historical acropolis and took my call, at the end it was like we’d known each other for years.

Here’s the thing: tequila this good doesn’t just elevate the moment. It deepens the bond. With each toast, we weren’t just clinking glasses. We were securing another year of friendship, of sisterhood, of showing up for one another through every chapter. And we cheered a lot that night.
Thank you Ladydragón sisters.
